Bobby Lashley Names WWE Stars He Wanted to Put Over Before Leaving

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has revealed the four WWE stars he wanted to “put over” before his departure from the company earlier this year. Now part of AEW as a member of The Hurt Syndicate, Lashley discussed his vision for ending his WWE career on a high note while elevating key talents within the company.

Lashley’s Vision for The Street Profits

In an interview on the Lame Guys podcast, Lashley explained that his original plans centered on a faction he led in WWE called The Pride, which included The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) and B-Fab. Lashley envisioned Ford and Dawkins eventually turning on him to spark individual feuds that would culminate in the group taking him out.

“What I ultimately wanted… was for Dawkins and Montez to turn on me. I wanted a feud with one, then the other, and for both to take me out at the end. Both are amazingly talented,” Lashley shared.

Austin Theory and LA Knight on Lashley’s Wishlist

Lashley also named Austin Theory and LA Knight as wrestlers he wanted to help elevate. He revealed a desire to turn Theory into a top babyface, adding:

“I never had the opportunity to do something with LA Knight. We were good friends in IMPACT and had several talks about him coming up. That would have been a cool one.”

Lashley emphasized his lack of ego in the process, stating he was willing to lose matches to enhance the careers of others.

Lashley’s Legacy and AEW Transition

Although these plans didn’t materialize in WWE, Lashley has continued his career in AEW, where he debuted as part of The Hurt Syndicate alongside MVP and Shelton Benjamin. His creative vision highlights his commitment to developing future stars and giving back to the industry.

As Lashley transitions to new opportunities, his comments shed light on what could have been a memorable swan song in WWE, featuring some of the company’s brightest rising talents.
