Former WWE Star Dismisses Concern Over Vince McMahon’s Trafficking Lawsuit
Former WWE star Curtis Axel recently stated that he has no interest in Vince McMahon’s ongoing trafficking lawsuit, expressing his frustration over past WWE layoffs.
Curtis Axel Shares His Thoughts
During an interview on Monte and The Pharaoh, Curtis Axel addressed the controversy surrounding Vince McMahon’s current legal troubles. McMahon is facing a sexual trafficking lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, along with renewed attention on the Ring Boy scandal. When asked for his opinion, Axel made it clear that he doesn’t care about McMahon’s situation.
Axel candidly stated, “I’ve got (redacted) all with this kind of stuff. All those 50 wrestlers got laid off, you know? And I was one of them, right? So, yeah, that (redacted) me off. But honestly, I don’t know what’s going on with him, and I don’t care.”
Frustration Over WWE Layoffs
Axel, who was released in 2020 during WWE’s mass layoffs at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, expressed lingering resentment over how his WWE tenure ended. Despite his heritage as the son of the legendary Curt Hennig (Mr. Perfect), Axel’s career in WWE didn’t reach the heights many had hoped for.
His frustration with being one of the wrestlers released during that period seemed to overshadow any concern for McMahon’s current legal battles. He emphasized his disinterest, saying, “I really don’t have two (redacted) to give. I have no clue; I don’t pay attention to it. He can go do whatever he wants to do.”
Axel’s time in WWE saw him achieve success as an Intercontinental Champion and a Tag Team Champion. However, he felt his potential was never fully realized within the company. His blunt remarks reflect the complicated relationship many former superstars have with WWE management
Moving On from WWE
Axel’s comments suggest he has moved on from his WWE past and prefers to stay out of the drama surrounding McMahon. His focus now seems to be on his life outside of wrestling and distancing himself from his former employer’s controversies.
