Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Suffers Elbow Injury While Filming

The Rock WWE News

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, renowned WWE superstar turned Hollywood megastar, recently encountered an unexpected setback on the set of his latest movie, “The Smashing Machine.”

Johnson took to Instagram on June 11, 2024, to reveal that he had injured his elbow during filming.

The injury was severe enough to cause significant swelling, making his elbow resemble a cantaloupe.

Details from The Rock

Johnson, known for his dedication and resilience, shared a video on Instagram explaining the situation.

“As you guys know, I’m filming a movie called ‘The Smashing Machine.’ And anytime your film is called ‘The Smashing Machine,’ well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up,” he said.

The Rock pointed to his swollen elbow, adding, “Look at that sucker right there. It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow. I got banged up pretty good today in our scenes.”

Next Steps

The immediate concern for Johnson is the extent of the injury. Due to the swelling, he will have to wait before undergoing an MRI to assess any potential soft tissue damage.

“That’s a lot of fluid. We’ll see. I got to get it out of there first before I get any kind of MRI,” Johnson explained.

Impact on Filming and Wrestling

The injury comes at a time when Johnson is balancing his film career with a return to the WWE ring.

Fans were thrilled to see him back at WrestleMania, and fortunately, he emerged from that event unscathed.

However, this injury on the movie set raises questions about potential delays in his filming schedule and whether it might affect any upcoming wrestling appearances.

The Rock’s Resilience

Despite this setback, Johnson’s positive attitude and determination shine through. His candid approach to sharing both triumphs and challenges continues to endear him to millions of fans worldwide.

As we await further updates on his recovery, the hope is that The Rock will be back in action, both on-screen and in the ring, stronger than ever.
