Triple H CRITICIZED for WWE Appearances
Triple H’s prominent role in WWE programming has sparked criticism from fans and former wrestlers alike. As the Head of Creative since 2022, Triple H has revitalized WWE with innovative changes, but some believe his on-screen presence is overshadowing the talent and detracting from the product.
Stevie Richards’ Critique
Former WWE star Stevie Richards voiced his concerns on The Stevie Richards Show, pointing out that Triple H frequently uses the term “New Era” across major WWE events such as WrestleMania, Monday Night Raw, and WWE’s Netflix debut. Richards likened this repetitive branding to Dixie Carter’s time in TNA, where similar promises of change eventually fell flat.
“Triple H keeps talking about this ‘New Era,’ but if everything is the ‘New Era,’ then nothing is,” Richards remarked, adding that overusing the concept diminishes its impact.
Overexposure in Storylines
Richards also criticized Triple H’s constant involvement in WWE storylines, despite his inability to wrestle due to medical issues. He cited examples like Triple H’s interactions with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, where his presence often lacked payoff due to his non-physical role.
This behavior, Richards argued, mirrors independent wrestling promoters who insert themselves into the spotlight at the expense of the talent.
Balancing Leadership and Presence
Triple H’s leadership has undeniably led to many positive changes in WWE, but his overexposure may create unintended challenges. As WWE tries to establish itself in a post-Vince McMahon era, some fans feel that Triple H’s involvement risks overshadowing emerging stars and new narratives.
